*Final Day* One of the sunnier sides of the downturn is the spaces it's made for emerging artists to show their work. Of course, this comes with a dark legacy of mismanaged planning and corruption. All the more reason to applaud Lorna O'Brien and the new exhibition space
'This Is It' for putting together a launch show 'Home' that both seizes and critiques these opportunities. At this moment of great questioning of our ambitions in and the implosion of our housing industry, the photographers explore the diverse and varied ways that we make homes. Offering powerful statements about how we manifest a place we call 'home', the photographers here provide mature reminders that homes are not merely architectural artifices. They are weaved entanglements of lived relationships that we continually renew, not though stone but through presence. /
